Earlier on this year I took up a project of painting a design in the Aldo shoe shop on Oxford Street, London. The project involved painting the design down the entire length of the shop, with it wrapping across the floor, walls and ceiling.
The hardest part was that it all had to match up so there was no room for error. Especially as the design was made up entirely of coloured cubes! I made a mock up of the whole thing as a scale model in cardboard. If I knew it worked here then it was just a ‘simple’ job of scaling it up.
It took five of us 11 days to complete. The hours were long and we had a couple of 4am finishes but we had it all completed on schedule and to a very high standard.
