I extended the jigsaw design so it now wraps around most of the end area. It takes quite some working out to get the colours in the right positions here – I’ve tried to keep complementary colours adjacent to one another here so that greens are next to reds, oranges next to blues and yellows next to purples. The yellows also ‘shimmer’ when next to blues as do the reds with the blues. It makes a big difference to the dramatic effect of the wall to get this right I feel.
I added a simple shadow and highlight to the jigsaw blocks to give them a 3d chamfer element. It’s fun to break this down into very simple tones and see how effective it can still be. Each block has just one highlight and one shadow that I have painted in freehand.
