Trompe l’oeil candlesticks

October 30, 2013

I painted these recently. The walls had a colour wash and then there was a limestone fire surround and oak cabinet added in trompe l’oeil. The final touch was the pair of pewter candlesticks. I may be going back soon to add a pewter plate in between them!

That has to be one of the heaviest improvised palettes I’ve used in a while.
