Here’s a sketch I made for a mural proposal. It depicts the exhumation of the body of Manfred of Sicily following the Battle of Benevento in 1266.

The colour sketch had to be an aid for a final mural whilst being able to stand up as a painting in it’s own right. It’s been a while since I painted it now and looking at it there’s a few changes I’d make but I like the general feel.
