Gales Ales Mural, Horndean

I was commissioned here to paint a mural on the site of the old Gales Brewery in Horndean. The project involved designing 4 sketch visuals for a proposal. Of these 3 were chosen and I worked these up into larger full colour paintings in gouache. The 3 paintings went to public vote where it was narrowed down to a single painting. The final painting itself is of a romanticised view of the inside of the brewery in the 19th Century. The fun parts of this were really getting the lighting right so it worked as a believable space.

It was painted in oil paints on waterproof Tricoya board before I installed the painting on site. The painting was finally unveiled in a ceremony performed by the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire.
