Murals

Fragrant Nature Hotel, Fort Kochi, India

This was a collaboration with Gary Myatt, and was completed in 2015. We were commissioned to design and paint a mural which was to be situated in the main courtyard of the hotel. The mural was designed to reflect the rich cultural heritage of Fort Kochi, from it’s traditional past and throughout it’s colonial history. Traditional Indian archtitecture can be seen alongside Dutch, Portugeuse and British architecture in the painting. The mural was set in the 19th Century and features a tea clipper being unloaded in the background, and market traders in the foreground. We worked on and completed the designs in the UK, then worked on the finer details of the research in Kerala. The mural was then painted on site in oil on plaster.
