Contemporary Religious Painting

This is a mural design proposal for a church. There were multiple elements in the brief that I needed to portray. The main idea was to depict biblical themes in a contemporary setting (the clothes of the figures), whilst the handling of the painting would be traditional. The water would be coming out of the painting in a photo realist manor. This would be a challenge in the final mural for it to work as true trompe l’oeil but a challenge I was keen to meet.
